- Remove the parts from the bag and ensure all washers, screws, and spacers (if applicable) are provided.
- Mount the rear rails of the rack first to ensure that the spacing is correct and to ensure the front rails fit properly.
- If the rails seem to be bent inward towards the frame of the bike, simply bend the rails out just a bit so that they fit around the rear fork of the bike. For the front of the rack, simply twist the rails so that they line up with the screw holes on the frame. Use a rag and a pair of channel locks to twist the rails properly. The rag will keep the paint from getting scratched or chipped.
- Once the rack is set and ready to mount take the screws and washers provided and begin screwing the rack into place.
- If the screws seem like they are not threading properly, this may be an indication of excess paint in the thread. Simply put a little more force to work out any excess paint.
- FOR THE X5/X7. Follow steps 1-5. The front of the rack will have a thick white washer. Slide the long bolt through the rack, then slide the washer and the fender (in that order) into place. Screw down the rack and this will create the foundation needed to hold your washer and fender in place.
